The Strategic Forum for Construction brings together the mainbodies in the construction industry.
The Forum also acts as the interface between Government and the construction sector. It's vision is for the UK construction industry to achieve maximum value for all clients, end users and stakeholders and to exceed their expectations through the consistent delivery of world – class products and projects.

Lord O’Neill Chairman of the Strategic Forum for Construction
| Lord O’Neill, a former MP whose time in Parliament included a ten-year stint as Chairman of the influential Trade and Industry Select Committee, is also a past Chairman of the Nuclear Industry Association. He is the current President of the Specialist Engineering Contractors Group, and brings with him to the SFfC a wealth of industry experience, as well as crucial links to politicians and an excellent knowledge of the working of Parliament. | ![]() |

The Strategic Forum Executive Group welcomed the Government Construction Strategy and agreed that the SFfC should have a substantive central role in regard to industry/government activities - 27 July 2011
Lord O’Neill of Clackmannan, President of the Specialist Engineering Contractors’ (SEC) Group, began a 12 month term for the ‘Specialists’ as Chairman of the Strategic Forum for Construction(SFfC) with effect from 1 July 2011.
Construction Commitments
The Strategic Forum seeks to promote the six key areas contained within the Construction Commitments
:
- Procurement and Integration
- Commitment to People
- Client Leadership
- Sustainability
- Design Quality
- Health and Safety
Six headline targets
to 2012 have been developed to address the key areas of focus. All members of the Strategic Forum will be working to ensure their part of the industry conttributes to ensuring these targets are achieved.
