Regulatory environment

The passing of two new pieces of legislation, the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations (April 2007) and the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act (effective from 6 April 2008) means all parties involved in a construction project are expected to co-ordinate activities from health and safety viewpoints.

Corporate Manslaughter and Homicide Act

Guidance on the new Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 which comes into force on 6 April 2008.

Information from the HSE regarding the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007.  Although the new offence is not part of health and safety law, it will introduce an important new element in the corporate management of health and safety.
